Tara Jebens-Singh and I first met while serving on the Consortium of Lake Area Senior Services together. We worked to organize support for age-friendly services such as affordable housing and accessible transportation. Tara has been an effective advocate, partner, and community connector throughout Suburban Ramsey County for years. I know Tara will do a great job representing District 1 on the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners.

Tara's commitment to mental health and community building is unmatched. She is already a pro at navigating county services and knows what needs to be done, what needs to be improved, and how to do it. She's absolutely the person we need to represent us in Ramsey County.

A county commissioner should be someone who can make connections. County government does a lot of things, but we need leaders who can see how everything fits together, whether it is in human services, mental health, aging, transportation, climate, or public safety. Success happens when all these elements are strong, because they are all interdependent. Tara Jebens-Singh has a solid history as a community leader who knows how to make those connections. She is also curious, which means that she wants to know more about topics and the people who work on them so that they can work effectively. Tara is a thoughtful coalition builder with an extensive and impressive background in public policy, wellness, education, equity, older adult, and mental health programs spanning over 25 years, Tara has proven time and again her unwavering commitment to the well-being and progress of our community. I believe that Tara is the leader that would best serve the needs of all residents of Ramsey County and that is why I enthusiastically support her candidacy for Ramsey County Commissioner.  

Tara is a thoughtful leader and champion for age-friendly communities and accessible transportation. As the President of the Consortium of Lake Area Senior Services (CLASS) and a board member of Metro Meals on Wheels, she has fought for seniors and people with disabilities to get essential services that allow them to live independent, full lives.

I have had the privilege of working with Tara for a number of years in her role at the White Bear Area School District. She lead the Community Forum on Seniors which increased awareness and access to transportation, housing, and at-home services. As Executive Director of NYFS, she was a partner in providing mental health, youth diversion, and senior chore services throughout COVID. 

Tara has the ability to bring people and groups together to get things done.  She is compassionate, a good communicator and a very hard worker.  She will be a great County Commissioner.  My only regret is that I don't live in her district so I could vote for her.  However I realize that I, like all the residents of Ramsey County will benefit when she is elected.
